Inquiring Minds-Touring the world’s greatest Archaeological Sites
We shifted our attention to China, England, Denmark, Peru, and southern Mexico—different places and times. The discovery of the Terracotta Army in 1974 has led to a new look at Chinese history. Other discoveries of a Viking ship in England and, more recently, the Iceman called Otzi in the Alps lead us to a better understanding of our ancient world. Secondly, we traveled to explore the Mayan Ruins in southern Mexico. Mayan pyramids and cities are as enticing as those built in ancient Egyptian times. Also, we will spend some time at Chichen Itza. Dr. Cline explained how the use of LIDAR for mapping known sites, discovering new ones, and previously unknown buildings at known sites has changed archaeology.
