Life Care or Fee for Service? Which Life Plan is right for me?
LifeCare plans
Our LifeCare plans include an entry fee, typically with an important refundable component, along with a set monthly fee that covers regular monthly expenses like basic utilities, housekeeping, landscaping and maintenance, a generous meal plan, access to fitness classes, social events, and everything else you enjoy as a resident at Epworth Villa.
Predictability
With a LifeCare contract, your monthly fee remains predictable even when you access higher levels of care. A LifeCare plan is a fantastic way to protect yourself against the ever-rising costs of healthcare.

When and if you need higher levels of care, you’ll access them right here in the community you’ve come to know and love.
Tax benefits
Your entry fee may be fully or partially tax deductible as a prepaid medical expense. Each year our CPA prepares a letter for our residents who paid a LifeCare entry fee the previous year that shows the percentage of medical writeoff being allowed to our residents by the IRS. Example: In 2019 it was 48% of the total entry fee paid and the monthly fee paid as well. Consult your financial advisor for additional details.

Fee for Service
This is a flexible plan where your monthly fees are based on the level of care you need at the time. Fee for Service plans offer lower entry fees and initial monthly fees, and can be a great option for residents with long-term care insurance already in place.
