In choosing a retirement community, we went online and received 50 some brochures from various CCRC communities. We were living in Arkansas at the time. We then visited similar communities in Ohio, Arkansas, and Texas. Then a friend said check out Oklahoma. Again, we went online and saw Epworth; we called, made an appointment, and visited. We were blown away as none of the places we visited could compare to Epworth. At that point, we made the decision to move to Epworth; that was over 11 years ago, and we have never doubted that decision.
What do we enjoy most about living at Epworth? Having moved to Epworth without knowing any other residents, the people we have met have been the most enjoyable aspect of living here.
Three words to describe Epworth would be fulfilling, comfortable, and encouraging.
Our favorite aspect of lifestyle at Epworth is the caring and friendliness of the residents and the staff.
What surprised us most about moving to Epworth from out of State was the friendliness of the residents and the ease with which we were accepted as part of the Epworth community.
What we appreciate most about living at Epworth is the care and compassion shown by other residents and the staff. It is like living in one big loving family.
Our participation in activities would include the Write Group, where one can express his creative writing skills and, in the process, relive fond memories from one’s past. Also, the opportunity for gardening has been wonderful to carry on with the joyful experience from my past. We have served on various committees during these years.
The staff at Epworth is extremely responsive to the needs and concerns of the residents. They are warm and friendly, like being part of the family, but not infringing on our privacy.
If you are considering a move to Epworth but are undecided about which community to choose, spend time at other facilities and then honestly compare their quality with Epworth. Check out the dining services, maintenance responsiveness, safety, housekeeping service, activities, etc. Get a feel for the friendliness of the residents and staff. — -If you have decided on Epworth but just don’t know “when to move”, come before you can’t enjoy all the Epworth has to offer.
Our favorite memory has to be the friendships we have developed and the expressions of care and concern of the staff.
