A foundation of faith

Laura Glover, Senior Chaplain
Religious life at Epworth Villa
Epworth Villa was initially founded by and continues to be affiliated with the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church. This faith foundation is an important part of the Epworth Villa story. But today, you’ll find people from many faith traditions living and thriving in our community. We welcome people of all backgrounds and all faiths—we believe it is one of the reasons our community has such vitality and strength.

An active approach to spiritual wellness
As an expression of our commitment to a holistic approach to resident life, the Chaplain’s Office and Religious Life Committee of Epworth Villa offer a robust and diverse array of opportunities to promote spiritual wellness and growth for residents and staff. This includes worship services, study and prayer groups, mission and service projects, seasonal celebrations, and compassionate pastoral care.
Religious Life offerings are ecumenical and open to people of all faith traditions. The mission of the Chaplain’s Office, in partnership with the Religious Life Committee, is to enhance lives spiritually so all members of the community thrive fully. Core areas of commitment are care, growth, service, worship, and renewal.
One outstanding feature of life at Epworth Villa is the encouragement of religious life. We have a beautiful and inspiring chapel, three chaplains, regular vesper services, Sunday school, and prayer and study groups for spiritual cultivation and growth. We also participate in mission and ministry projects within and beyond our community. We are grateful and glad.
